If you travel to Manado in North Sulawesi province, you should stop by the beautifull town of Tomohon on the highland southern part of Manado. The town can be reached by car for 1-2 hour driving. Tomohon is more quite than Manado, the capital of North Sulawesi. The weather is little bit colder and the air is more fresh.
Some tourist spots can be found here. Lake Linow is the top spot to be visited during your trip to Tomohon. This small lake has unique colour. This lake is located near some surrounding volcanoes. Because of different sulfure contain around the lake that solved onto lake water, the lake has graduaal colour from milky, light green, dark green.

| Hot Black Minahasa Coffee |
Tourist has to pay 20,000 rupiah entrance fee (August 2014) before entering the gate. On the lakeside, there is a restaurant that quite nice built from the wood. A cup complementary black Minahasa Coffee is provided. Visitor can choose wheter he/she want to have a seat inside the building or outside in the terrace.

My suggestion is don't forget to order fried banana with spicy sambal Roa in addition of black coffee. For me as Javanese, it is quite strange because in Java, fried banana is a sweet dessert and in North Sulawesi, the people mix it with spicy sambal Roa. Roa is a kind of marine fish. The hot flavor and seafood taste from Roa make a different culinary experience for me.

Walk downstair from the restaurant into lake side and enjoy the breeze under the mapple trees. Some yellow flowers make this place look more beautifull. Sidewalk is provided with good condition. This restaurant and the lake are well maintaince.
This rich volcano island provide sufficient geothermal resources. One geothermal power plant have been built not far from this lake to supply electricity in North Sulawesi.
The downside of this place is nothing much to do beside enyoing the beuatiful scenery and the coffee. The goverment or tourism operator should provide additional theme park or play ground for the kids. Water sport activity such as canoing is one of good idea to attract more visitor.
